Wait with a song
We should allow God to approach the temple for him in our
heart for his kingdom is within us. As he rests in us, he molds us that we
shall be like him meek and humble even unto the cross. We should not be
rebellious if he allows us to share in his burden.
It
shall come to pass that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder,
and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of
anointing (Isaiah 10:27). Then the Lord’s rest shall be glorious which the
Gentiles seek (Is. 11:10). We shall be relieved of the burden for the Lord of
hosts has sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass;
and as I have purposed, so shall it stand (Is. 14:24).
And
so shall one then answer the messengers of the nation: The Lord has founded
Zion, and the poor of his people shall stand in it (Is. 14:32). And in mercy
shall the throne be established: and the Lord shall sit upon it in truth in the
tabernacle of David, judging and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness
(Is. 16:5).
On
that day man shall look to his Maker, his eyes turned toward the Holy One of
Israel. He shall not look to the altars, his handiwork, nor shall he regard
what his fingers have made: the sacred poles or the incense stands (Is.
17:7-NAB). All you who inhabit the world, who dwell on earth, when the signal
is raised on the mountain, look! When the trumpet blows, listen (Is. 18:3)!
For
thus says the Lord: I will quietly look on from where I dwell, like the glowing
heat of sunshine, like a cloud of dew at harvest time. Before the vintage when
flowering is ended, and ripening grapes succeeds the booms, then come the
cutting of the branches with pruning hooks and the discarding of the lopped-off
shoots (Is. 18:4-5).
And
it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God: we have waited for him, and
he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and
rejoice in his salvation (Is. 25:9). The meek also shall increase their joy in
the Lord, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel (Is.
29:19).
Thus
said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: By waiting and by calm you shall be
saved, in quiet and in trust your strength lies, but this you did not wish. Yet
the Lord is waiting to show you favor and he rises to pity you; for the Lord is
a God of justice: blessed are those who wait for him (Is. 30:15,18)!
So
shall we wait with a song in our heart burning from within triumphant as our
grief come to pass with the glory of the Lord revealed. Let us rejoice once
more as the Lord hold our right hand saying “Fear not; I will help thee.” The
poor and the needy that thirst, the Lord will hear as he says “I will not
forsake thee” (Is. 41:17).
Everyone
that is called by the Lord’s name shall be his witness, a servant that he has
chosen who is created for his glory. And they shall understand the Lord who
says, “I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after
me” (Is. 43:10,7).
